River Walking

The old convergence of the Blue Earth and Minnesota rivers is pretty low. We waded around down there for a couple hours.

Rapidan Dam Store and Park

I took the kids (sans Mitchell) to The Dam Store in Rapidan. It's a short drive from Mankato, or, if you're ambitious, it's a great destination for a bike ride as it's near the Red Jacket Bike Trail. Gotta have the pie...

The store's pretty small, but if you don't mind getting in close to one another, it's cozy for lunch. If you mind, you can get your food to go and take it outside to the park. You can buy bait and snacks here for fishing, as the Blue Earth river is just a short walk from the store.

Are children born attracted to water?
Throwing, climbing, digging, splashing.

We are off to the lake this weekend. Hope yours is warm and happy.

My uncle and aunt hosted an awesome family reunion today out at their cabin on the lake. Nearly all of my cousins were there, I think. They came from North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Illinois, and who knows where else. It was really good to see them all. Nate's favorite part of the day was when I fell off the dock and into the water in my dress. Luckily, the water was warn, and my dress, not-too-transparent.
